As an important means of transportation for citizens, electric bicycles are related to people's livelihood in terms of travel safety. Electric bicycles need to be charged frequently. Generally speaking, electric bicycle chargers are divided into two types: lithium battery chargers and lead-acid battery chargers. The most widely used is undoubtedly the lithium battery charger. A good quality lithium battery charger is not only safe to use, but also has a long service life.
It is reported that from July 1, 2023, the "Mandatory National Standard" for electric bicycle chargers and helmets (hereinafter referred to as the "New National Standard") will be officially implemented. The new national standard has made unified requirements for the charging port of electric bicycle chargers. The new national standard for helmets includes electric bicycle passenger helmets in the standard scope on the basis of the original motorcycle passenger helmets, filling the gap in helmet standards, and making clear provisions on the product structure of helmets, the stability of the fixing device, the strength of the wearing device, the performance of absorbing collision energy, and the penetration resistance, so as to better protect the life safety of riders.
The new national standard unifies the form of the output plugs of lead-acid batteries and lithium battery chargers to avoid mismatching of battery and charger plugs. At the same time, the charger is required to have a communication function. After the charger plug is inserted into the charging socket of the electric bicycle, the communication line core will first try to communicate and handshake. The battery will be charged only when the voltage and other conditions meet the requirements, reducing or even eliminating safety hazards caused by voltage and other reasons, and avoiding or reducing the occurrence of fire, electric shock, etc.
